East – West / Mammoth Ulthana “Particulars Factors” Three years ago the debut album of a multi-instrumental project Mammoth Ulthana was released on Zoharum. It was critically acclaimed by reviewers (including me)  The second album, with Rafał Kołacki and Jacek Doroszenko hidden under this name, develops motifs that appeared on their debut release in a spectacular way.

Particular Factors – album review by Polyphonia

The first album of this surprising duo formed by Rafał Kołacki (HATI, Innercity Ensemble, T’ien Lai, Molok Mun) and Jacek Doroszenko was released in 2013. It proved so delightful that it was among my favorite Polish releases of 2013.

Particular Factors – new album is here

One of the most well-reviewed Zoharum releases is the debut album of Mammoth Ulthana from 2013. The duo of Jacek Doroszenko and Rafał Kołacki had us wait very long, three years, for their follow-up album.

Album review by Steven Gullotta, Brutal Resonance

I started this review pretty wide awake after a morning of home made eggs, sausage, and home fries, but now that I’ve gone through this album, I feel as if a lullaby was sung unto my ears by an angel and drifted me slowly into the dream world.

Album review by Stark, Santa Sangre

I didn’t know what to expect from Mammoth Ulthana. The moniker was totally unknown for me, only the name of one of the musicians was familiar – Rafał Kołacki is a member of HATI. A set of instruments attended by both artists would indicate either improvised sound experiments, or an affair related to primal sounds, outside our culture, both in terms of time and geography.
